The University of San Diego is located in the community of Linda Vista, which is a recognized area within the city of San Diego. Linda Vista is a most unique community comprised of 16 distinct neighborhoods with 11,000 residents from 24 cultures who speak 38 different languages. Its greatest asset is diversity, which has been celebrated for the past 25 years though Linda Vista’s annual multicultural fair and parade.
Linda Vista was originally established during World War II as a housing complex for defense plant workers and their families. Today, many faculty members, staff and upper classmen live off campus in Linda Vista.
Over the past 60 years, Linda Vista and USD have grown together and developed a relationship built on trust, mutual respect and support. USD strives to be a responsive and responsible member of the community and seeks cooperation with its neighbors on a variety of issues.
