Web Resources of Interest to Classicists

A remarkably comprehensive list of web resources relevant to the study of the classics is maintained by Princeton University (a similar list, in Italian, can be found at Fonte letterarie).  The University of Notre Dame maintains a similar site for the study of Late Antiquity.  For Byzantine Studies, see the site maintained by the Dumbarton Oaks Research Library in Washington, D.C.

Acta Sanctorum Database.  A collection of Greek and Latin texts examining the lives of the saints (USD users only).

De Imperatoribus Romanis.  Online encyclopedia of Roman rulers and their families.

Dumbarton Oaks Hagiography Database.  Greek saints' lives from the Byzantine Empire, c. A.D. 700-1000.

Oxyrhyncus Papyri Online. A guide to the papyri from Oxyrhyncus.

Patrologia Latina Database.  The works of the Church Fathers from Tertullian to Innocent III, c. A.D. 200-1216, in Latin (USD users only).

Perseus Digital Library.  Includes Greek and Latin texts, English translations, Greek and Latin dictionaries, grammatical aids, and art and archaeology resources.

Thesaurus Linguae Graecae. Digitized database of most literary texts written in Greek from Homer to the fall of the Byzantine Empire in 1453 (USD users only).

Vindolanda Tablets Online. Texts, translations, and commentaries on the wooden writing tablets excavated from the Roman fort at Vindolanda in northern England.
