Clinical & Educational Services
Groups (Alcohol 101 & 201)
Group sessions are designed to provide education regarding the prevention of negative consequences related to problematic drinking and high-risk behaviors. If you are attending either Alcohol 101 or Alcohol 201 you must complete Alcohol.Edu prior to class.
Individual Consultations
Individual consultations are designed to assess students' needs and risk level, provide education, discuss healthy choices, and decrease high-risk alcohol and other drug related behaviors. The Center for Health and Wellness Promotion clinicians provide treatment and referrals when indicated. Consultations may be mandated or are voluntary. Students are encouraged to seek assistance for themselves should they have concerns or experience problems related to their use of alcohol and/or other drugs. Students are also encouraged to refer their peers if they are concerned about their alcohol and/or other drug use. Information shared during consultations is confidential. Click here for more information about HIPAA Privacy Practices.
12-Step
12-Step Program information and facilitation is available through the Center for Health and Wellness Promotion for students referred or interested in this type of intervention. All 12-step groups are based on the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous. There are 12-step meetings available on the USD campus and throughout the San Diego community. Students seeking information or assistance regarding 12-step services are encouraged to contact the Center for Health and Wellness Promotion to set up a confidential consultation.
