Job Description

The Research Associate II, Medicinal Chemistry, will support the efforts of the Medicinal Chemistry group as part of a multi-disciplinary project team. He or she will synthesize therapeutic agents for the treatment of metabolic and infectious disorders and other therapeutic areas.

 

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED

Education

Bachelors Degree in modern synthetic chemistry plus at least 2 years of relevant industry experience, or Masters Degree in modern synthetic chemistry.

Experience

Prior experience in designing and conducting multi-step syntheses of therapeutic molecules desired.

The successful candidate will be responsible for lead optimization in the identification of new therapeutic agents. 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

- Plan and execute the synthesis of organic molecules for evaluation in drug discovery 

  projects.

- Conduct research towards solving problems in the synthesis of target organic molecules.

- Evaluate the SAR from multiple biological experiments and propose new compounds

  for chemical synthesis.

- Participate on drug discovery project teams.

- Prepare and communicate in both oral and written form, reports of research results.

- Will analyze reports from experiments and propose solutions to problems.

 

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED

<>Requires a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry with at least 5 years of post-doctoral and industry experience. 

- Requires successful track record in small molecule drug discovery, and strong background in modern synthetic chemistry, chromatographic, and analytical techniques including HPLC, NMR and MS.

Job Description

The Process Chemist/CMC Manager/Senior Manager, will provide leadership in process chemistry for PhenomixÕ preclinical and phase 1-3 development projects.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

-  Develop strategy for process development and API manufacturing for preclinical,  nonclinical and

   clinical studies and productregistration.

-  Design and troubleshoot synthetic routes and scale up plans for API manufacturing.

-  Ensure the API demands of companyÕs projects are met.

-  Evaluate, select, and manage process CROs.

-  Write process reports and regulatory documents.

- Source raw materials

 

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED

-  BS/MS with 8-10 years/Ph.D. with 3-5 years experience in process chemistry in 

   pharmaceutical or biotech industry;

-  Hands on experience and track record in pharmaceutical process development,

   particularly with late development projects;

-  Familiarity with CMC activities and regulatory requirements;

-  Proven project management skills;

-  Excellent oral and written communication skills.
