Position Title
Senior Scientist, Pharmacokinetics
Job Description
This position will work in the Preclinical Development group to manage and support ADME/PK, pharmacodynamic and toxicokinetic related activities for all stages of discovery and early development in a dynamic small molecule-based drug discovery and development company. This individual will be responsible for the design and implementation of studies to evaluate the in vitro and in vivo ADME characteristics of new chemical entities to support clinical candidate selection. This would include the use of suitable formulations, data interpretation, selection of appropriate species and doses, as well as the use of robust prediction methods, for example to estimate human dose based on multi-species in vitro and in vivo ADME data. Responsibilities will also involve management of vendors to perform studies in non-rodent species and GLP studies to support clinical candidate selection and advancement, including the writing, review and approval of reports to be used in regulatory submissions. This individual will play a key role in building ADME/PK and toxicology capabilities for discovery and development as the company grows.
QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED
The qualified candidate must have experience designing, performing and reporting on in vivo ADME, PK and toxicology studies. The candidate will have a Ph.D in Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Science, Biology, Chemistry/Biochemistry, or closely related discipline along with more than five plus (5+) years of small molecule pharmaceutical R&D experience with a focus on in vivo PK and/or toxicology. The individual should have good oral and written communication skills, strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

Job Description
Responsibilities will include planning and conducting multi-step syntheses of target molecules as potential drug candidates. Job Description
The successful applicant for this position will plan, organize, and conduct research in drug discovery projects using modern medicinal chemistry and organic synthetic chemistry approaches. This person will also be responsible for initiating and directing the design, synthesis, purification, and characterization of bioactive small molecules through the use of techniques such as parallel or combinatorial synthesis, column chromatography, HPLC, NMR, and MS. The selected individual will interact with medicinal and computational chemists on a wide variety of chemistries including biochemistry and computational chemistry and will be able to integrate information from these disciplines into the design of new bioactive compounds. This successful applicant for this position will apply modern computer modeling techniques to generate and optimize small molecule leads. This person will interact closely with members of a multidisciplinary team and assess how to apply computational techniques in a way that advances drug discovery programs and execute those plans. Additionally, the selected individual will be responsible for developing novel computational methodologies and strategies that improve on the current approaches.
QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED
Ph.D. or equivalent in Biology, Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry or a related field; with a minimum of 1 to 2 years of related experience and/or training in computational chemistry; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Strong knowledge and understanding of the overall Drug Discovery process and scientific principles. To perform this job successfully, select candidate must also have knowledge of molecular modeling, protein modeling, database design, computer programming, and web design.
