Job Description
This position will contribute to the design and synthesis of lead molecules and analyze SAR/pharmacokinetic data to advance the programs. The candidate will devise synthetic routes for discovery/optimization libraries and synthesize target molecules to support pre-clinical programs. Experience in synthesis of kinase inhibitors is desirable.
QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED
Successful candidates must have BS/MS in chemistry and at least one year of hands-on research involving synthetic organic chemistry (an undergraduate research project involving organic synthesis may qualify). Candidate must have strong communication skills (both oral and written) and excellent multi-tasking ability. Solid computer skills as well as ability to work effectively in team environment are essential.

Scientist/Sr. Scientist, Medicinal Chemistry (MC-393)
Job Description
The successful candidate will design and synthesize lead molecules and analyze SAR/pharmacokinetic data to advance the programs. Responsibilities will include devising synthetic routes for discovery/optimization libraries and synthesizing target molecules to support pre-clinical programs. The candidate will be expected to conduct and write literature reviews for projects and publish contributions in scientific journals and patents as appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED
The candidate must have Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry or closely related discipline and three plus (3+) years of related post-doctoral or industrial experience in medicinal chemistry/organic synthesis. Prior experience with structure and pharmacophore based drug design and familiarity with design of lead molecules and their modification as a result of assay and ADMET data is a plus. Experience in synthesis of kinase inhibitors is highly desirable. Experience managing research projects and strong supervisory skills as well as the ability to act as a team player are necessary. Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong computer skills are essential.

As our Research Scientist, you will work independently to carry out multi-step organic synthesis directed at leads for drug discovery projects in the metabolic syndrome. You will also be responsible for clear documentation and periodic presentation of your research results.
QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED
Education
A Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry with demonstrated success in modern approaches to multi-step organic synthesis is required. Relevant post-doctoral Research Fellow experience is highly desirable.
Experience

Education
