I love the community feeling here at USD. The small class sizes allow me to build personal relationships with the other students as well as with my professors; I really feel as though they care about my future and my experience here at USD.
When I first visited campus, I was struck not just by the beauty, but by how friendly and down to earth everyone I met was. I immediately felt like I’d found my new home.
One of my favorite parts of USD is how as a student you do not simply just go to school. Instead you are immersed in a community where everyone will go the extra mile to say hello, invite you to dinner at the slp, or simply hold open a door. It is this atmosphere combined with the physical beauty of the school that really make USD far more than a school, it makes it a home!
I really am awestruck by the beauty of the school and also the environment as a whole, with the small class sizes to benefit our learning and the fact they strive to help students be the best they can by giving an array of opportunities especially their “commitment to serve with compassion, to foster peace, and to work for justice”.
When i first visit there i just feel in love with that school. There campus was so beautiful and there church was out of this world. It just felt like my new home.
When I visited the campus, I fell in love with the serene environment. College is an important part of our lives, and I loved that I felt at home there. Everyone seemed so happy to be there, and I hope I get the opportunity to be happy there!
What sets USD apart from all the other schools I am interested in is:
1. How personal the environment is- All of the students and admissions counselors I have spoken with did not treat me like an “applicant,” they treated me like a person.
2. The small class sizes- It is hard for me to pay attention in a huge lecture hall filled with hundreds of students. I learn the most in an environment where I can get to know my peers and teachers, and engage in the lesson through group discussion.
3.The fact that USD cares about the character of their students- They seem to want people (from all over the world) who want to make a difference in whatever way is natural to them.
4. The awesome study abroad program- Travel is something that I am absolutely passionate about, and USD has counselors who individually help each student plan and prepare for whatever adventure they want to embark on.
I can really go on and on… But the main reason why I love USD is because it is a place to seek wisdom. Knowledge is something that can be obtained anywhere, but wisdom is something that is developed through experience. USD has so many interesting people, programs, clubs, classes, and opportunities… It would be an experience that would shape who I am.
USD has been my #1 college since I was 5 years old! The campus is absolutely amazing and beautiful! Everyone is so sweet and helpful and the organizations and clubs are really active. Plus having a church to attend especially founders chapel with amazing music is something I have been looking forward to for yeares! I visit USD all the time and really hope to continue my love for the school as a student!
USD has the best of both worlds: it offers students a familiar and intimate community that is situated in one of the most beautiful campuses in the world in a city that provides students with endless possibilities for jobs and service. I am applying to the English program which has a myriad of exciting courses to choose from and I also hope to pursue my love of language off-campus through a study abroad program. I am eager to apply to USD and I know I can definitely be happy here!
One thing that makes USD distinctive amongst my other college applications is the tight-knit community USD students share. In addition to the beautiful campus, the relationship students have with their professors and each other make USD my top choice.
The sense of community at USD makes it great to be a Torero. I love being one and I look forward to continue being one in the years to come. Not only is the campus one of the best in the nation but the people are amazing too. Everyone wants to meet you and get to know you and there is a really sense of comradery between all of the students.
USD has a unique dual Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts Electrical Engineering degree; businesses love employees who know the science and math and can communicate it effectively!
One of things that made me choose USD was the close community and the personalized attention from the professors. Another great thing about USD is the Living Learning Communities (LLCs) which are a great aid for the transition of students from home to college, it’s gives the dorms a family essence. Not to mention the beautiful campus that is welcoming to all.
There’s just a special sparkle at USD that really makes me want to be a part of the community. From the small campus, to the location, to the Catholic identity, the University of San Diego has everything to offer and has everything that I have been looking for. After visiting, I fell in love, and then my love was solidified when the the USD representative came to my high school for an information session. We were told that aside from our gpa, our supplement would be very important in the admissions process. This was exciting to hear because my passions and character are so important to me and that is the true essence of why I would love to be a Torero, because my personality matters too!
My favorite thing about USD is the religious community on campus. Every Sunday there is mass at 7PM and 9PM and all are welcome. Also there are emmaus groups for the residence halls, which are basically small youth groups that meet once a week. I love emmaus group because it helps me recenter myself during the week. I have made so many friends through it. I love that I can easily practice my faith on campus.
When I first visited the campus through the university’s over night program, I immediately fell in love. I knew that I wanted to leave my hometown in Colorado but I was worried that I wasn’t ready to leave my home behind. Once I stepped onto the USD campus I thought, “I could see myself living here,” and I knew that this was the school for me.
When I visited this campus, I couldn’t help but be in awe of the beauty it holds. The buildings are wonderfully designed and the landscaping is magnificent. I revel in what a wonderful place this is to foster my learning, especially with the small class sizes and the availability of my professors. Being here so far has convinced me that I made the right choice in attending USD. I couldn’t imagine a better place to live and go to school.
My favorite thing about USD is how friendly both the students and faculty members are. There is a definite sense of community within each class, and everyone I have met has been so nice and willing to help! The professors, especially, are always willing to meet with you individually and help you with their class. I am so proud to be a Torero because I am a part of this community of friendly, ambitious students. And, of course, it doesn’t hurt that USD is one of the most beautiful schools in the nation!
During my college search, I felt like I was home every time I visited USD. Now, I am a Freshman living in Founders and can actually call USD my home. The campus is absolutely beautiful and wearing flip flops in October is definitely a perk! The faculty is tremendously helpful and due to the small class sizes, they have the ability to help students personally. A wide variety of clubs and activities are easily accessible as well. I look forward to Sunday-night masses in Founders Chapel all week. I love being part of the Torero family.
I love the small class environment and the greater San Diego area. At USD I can work hard throughout the week and still have a great time on the weekends.
Definitely the study abroad program! One of my main objectives in life is to travel and expose myself to as many different cultures as possible. With USD being ranked #1, I’d make my goal so much easier to accomplish!
What I love most about USD is from what a representative told me they are not just looking for students with great GPA’s they are looking for students who look to make a difference and better their community, and it appears to have a great academic as well as social environment. Which is why USD is my number 1 choice and I hope to visit it very soon.
I love this university! When I visited the campus last May I immediately felt so welcomed and I loved the vibe I got while on the tour. I also liked the surrounding area because of it’s diversity and I was glad to hear how the students are very much involved in the community. After researching the school, visiting the campus, and meeting with my admission counselor, I am extremely excited about USD. Basically, I want to be a Torero because this school truly speaks to me and I can envision myself here.
When I first stepped onto the University of San Diego campus, I knew that there is where I would end up attending. I got a feeling of community, friendliness, and comfort as soon as I began to walk across the camps. The beauty of the university, academic standards, and diversity of students made me want to be a Torero!
I love the friends I’ve made at USD and the ample opportunities given to get involved! The many communities within USD make it really easy to transition. I feel a sense of belongingness here and can’t wait to spend my college years at USD!
I love the community we have here at USD. Everyone here, including the upperclassmen and faculty members, are so friendly and welcoming, which has made the transition to USD very easy and fun!
The community that is fostered on this campus exceeds any campus that I have ever visited. I feel at home and the people here have become my second family, with everyone being so friendly and willing to help you with whatever you need. Although we have an absolutely gorgeous campus, it wouldn’t mean anything without the people that fill it and make USD who it is! USD has become my home away from home and I couldn’t imagine being anything other than a Torero!
For me, being a Torero is the ultimate package. Not only do you become a better student, but you also become a better person. The campus offers the ultimate learning enivornment, and is a place of comfort. Being a Torero is not only being academically inclined but being an all around better individual.
For me, the number one thing that made me want to be a Torero was the sense of community. The campus is small enough that you can get to know a lot of people because you see them all the time and at any event you go to, you know you’re going to see someone you know. The location and beauty of the campus were other things that made me want to come here. Coming from Massachusetts, I was just struck by the beauty of the campus and how centrally located in San Diego it is.
My favorite things about USD are the amazing campus and the well-known study abroad program. The physical beauty of the campus is what convinced me to become a Torero, and the feeling of having a small community as your second home is another one of the awesome aspects of the school. There are so many things about USD that make me want to be a Torero. Just to name a few, I would say the beautiful campus, the friendly people, the small class sizes, and the dedicated teachers. The beautiful campus provides a perfect environment for a community. The community at USD is amazing, everyone is nice and respectful to each other and that goes along with USD’s great values. The small classes sizes allow students to be more engaged in class and develop a relationship with the teacher which really helps with learning. Everything about USD is great and I wake up each morning so grateful to be here. I know I made the right decision in coming here!
Being a Torero means being a part of a community. There are so many ways to get involved here a USD and finding new opportunities is not a challenge.
