I have to believe that at some point we as a people will wake up and realize we are all we got, like it or not, we are all in the same boat. Therefore, if that means I have to row a little harder so be it, I just want us all to get there.
The fact that we all have this power to change and influence the way we see and live in our world makes me determined to leave a positive legacy behind me. Not only at USD can we do this, but in every stage in our journey, and we can lead by example and possibly inspire others around us to do good as well.
I am inspired by the things that other people do for one another. When I see someone making a difference in the world, I become inspired to do the same. If someone does something good for me, I always want to give back and do the same for them. Inspiration from others is so important; this is why it is important to try and be that inspiration.
I believe in good karma, whether it’s for you or a community. The more good energy you put out in the world, the more that you’ll get in return. Also, the golden rule steers me in the direction to do good in life because I believe in treating someone the way you want to be treated. If you put yourself in someone else’s shoes, would you want to be made fun of? Probably not, so therefore I believe in mutual respect.
We are told that we just don’t recognize the significance of the moments in our lives while they’re happening and that we take these moments for granted. It isn’t until that moment is over that we realize how important it was. These seemingly insignificant moments are what inspire me. I am inspired by the little moments in life, like the words of children, or the bars of a song, or a kind stranger helping me with my fallen belongings. At the time, these small things seem unimportant, but they play a significant role in everyday life. These small moments are what inspire me to try and be good so I can maybe create those moments for someone else.
When I see other people doing random nice things for strangers, it makes me smile and want to do good for others as well. The whole idea of “passing on kindness” really appeals to me, and maybe by doing something good I can inspire others as well!
What inspires me to do good in this world is knowing that as an individual, I can truly make a positive and lasting difference. It can range from volunteering at a local soup kitchen to raising money for an orphanage in Kenya, and the inspiration comes from seeing the smiles you help put on the faces of impoverished children and less fortunate people.
Karma and other living beings inspire me. I believe in karma, good and bad. Other living beings inspire me because I love the feeling I get when I help someone or something.
When I see people who have less than I do, but are still so grateful for and satisfied with their lives, I am inspired by them and want to help them to be able to have some of what I have been blessed with.
I am inspired by Mother Teresa who loved everyone, no matter who they were. It takes someone so selfless and genuine to make that big of an impact on the world. If I could just emulate just a little of what Mother Teresa did, than I know I am doing good in this world. She inspires me to look past my little troubles and focus on helping the bigger troubles around me.
What inspires me to do good in this world is the Hawaiian word for love, Aloha. Aloha is a Hawaiian value that connects all of us together, it exists in everyone and is the empathy and compassion we feel daily in our lives. That feeling of Aloha is what I search for everyday and by making others feel the love of my heart then hopefully I am able to encourage others to show love and compassion to one another until the whole world is encapsulated in this feeling of Aloha.
What inspires me to do good in this world is seeing others do something for someone else out of the goodness of their hearts. It’s inspiring to see people go the extra mile for something they don’t have to do, but they do it anyways just because they know it’s the right thing to do.
I am inspired to do good at the end of the day because that is what puts a smile on my face when I lay my head down on my pillow at night. I hope to be able to help put as many smiles on other’s faces, so that no one ends their days on a bad note. Life isn’t about money, or respect, or personal accomplishments, it is about being happy. I want to spread the feeling of love and help others in the pursuit of happiness.
`When I do good, when I help others, whenever I do something that can make a difference to another the happiness and joy that I give them provides me hope that I can make a difference in this world of 7 billion people. For me inspiration comes from the thought that I can make a difference to someone and that the only thing I need to make a difference in someone’s life is my own willpower to act upon that hope.
Seeing people and interacting with the professors and students at USD inspires me to do something good for this world. There are so many instances in life that makes you want to rip your hair out, but you have to accept that you’re the only one who can really make the change you want to see. USD offers such a great environment for young people to understand how to make a change in their life, and be good.
Knowing how well off i am makes me want to help others with less opportuinites then me because i want everyone to be able to accomplish their dreams. Another thing that inspires me are all the poeple who do sensible acts for others without wanting rewards.
Seeing others do wrong in this world is what inspires me to do good. Here at USD, we foster diversity and inclusion, and we accept people from all walks of life. When I see that this is not the case elsewhere, it makes me sick.
My favorite thing to do is send care packages over seas to our men and women deployed. I respect these people so much and will honestly say I could never do what they do. I have been sending boxes full of letters and supplies for over 12 years. The best feeling in the world is when I get a letter back from someone deployed. Reading his or hers thanks and appreciation makes me want to help even more. I think what keeps me wanting to do good is when I can see that I am making a better life for someone else. The key to a happy life for oneself is to gain happiness through helping others.
