Finding Funding: Internal and External Grants
Thursday, November 6, 2008
3:30 – 5:00 PM “Wine & Cheese”
Location: Degheri Room 120

This discussion focuses on a variety of funding sources. One of the most difficult issues is where and how to go about finding funding for the research you want to do. In today’s discussion Bill O’Neill from the Office of Sponsored Programs will provide you with information about internal and external sources of grants, and their various services. We will also consider how to establish a better and more effective internal support system for faculty conducting research.

Dr. Debbie Tahmassebi (Chemistry and Biology) discusses the grant process including information about the mechanics of structuring a proposal and the acquisition of funds obtained for their current projects. Information on International Opportunities Grants (IOG’s), mini-grant and project funding sources will be shared.
