Electronic Portfolios at the University of San Diego
Plans are underway at USD for electronic portfolio development. Over the next two years, we hope to transform our existing Student Development Transcript into a major learning and assessment tool using Chalk and Wire Learning Assessment, Inc.'s e-Porfolio 2 product. During Fall, 2007 five first year classes and one senior seminar implemented MySanDiego eP in a variety of ways. Three senior classes are using electronic portfolios this spring semester. It is hoped that USD's initial research using e-portfolios will foster further use on campus as part of a "four-year plan" for undergraduate student learning and development. Team leaders for the project are Dr. Carole Huston (Director of the Center for Educational Excellence) and Merrick Marino (Assistant Dean of Student Learning Initiatives in Student Affairs).
