Study Theology at Blackfriars Hall, Oxford
USD Theology and Religious Studies majors with strong academic records are encouraged to expand their intellectual horizons through a semester's study abroad in Oxford, England. Participants in the St. Clare's and Blackfriars Hall Scholars' Programme are enrolled as "visiting students" at the University of Oxford. They take advantage of one-on-one tutorial instruction at Blackfriars, a Permanent Private Hall of the University of Oxford, governed by the English Dominicans. Theology and philosophy are special strengths of this program. Instruction in Latin, Greek and Hebrew is available as well. Blackfriars scholars also take religious studies and other courses at St. Clare's, Oxford, for a full semester's credit toward their USD degree.
