Michelle Morris
Executive Assistant
Michelle Morris provides administrative support to the Chair and to full- and part-time faculty members of the Department of Theology and Religious Studies. She acts as a key resource person for information on academic, financial, and a multitude of administrative policies at USD. Ms. Morris is responsible for organizing the annual Portman Lecture and the annual Theta Alpha Kappa reception, including publicity, catering, and housing accommodations for the visiting Portman Professor. She acts as budgetary officer for the Department, and maintains the departmental website. Ms. Morris acts as liason between the department chair and faculty members, THRS majors, visiting professors, and other university departments. Ms. Morris earned the Exceptional Performance Award in 2007, and was a Leadership Academy Nominee in 2008.
Education
Ms. Morris received her B.A. in Comparative Literature from the University of California, Berkeley in 1999. She obtained a bilingual (Spanish) high school teaching credential from San Diego State University in 2005. She earned an elementary school teaching credential from USD in 2009. Her interests include incorporating the arts into public school education.
