GOVERNMENT INSPECTOR KC/ACTF INVITED SCENE
SCENE TO BE PRESENTED FEBRUARY 7TH AT THE ANNUAL KENNEDY CENTER/AMERICAN COLLEGE THEATRE FESTIVAL
January 20, 2012
Dr. Lisa Baird, Chair
Theatre Arts and Performance Studies Department
University of San Diego
Dear Dr. Baird,
Congratulations are in order for your exceptional theatre program at University of San Diego.
The Region VIII Governing Board from the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival has selected a scene from your college’s production of The Government Inspector for inclusion in the Evening of Invited Scenes at this year’s regional festival in the Austad Auditorium on the Weber State University Campus in Ogden, Utah.
Terry Glaser, the director of the production, should be recognized and commended for outstanding work. This was one of eight scenes selected to participate in this mainstage production out of approximately fifty that were nominated!
The Evening of Invited Scenes will kick off the festivities at this year's Regional Festival with a performance on Tuesday February 7th. More than 1000 students, faculty, and guest artists from universities and colleges across Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah, Guam, and Hawaii will gather for this year’s 44th Festival.
Again, congratulations to you, your students, your faculty, staff and your theatre program for outstanding work. You should be very proud.
Coordinator, Evening of Invitational Scenes
KC/ACTF Region VIII
The Evening of Invited Scenes is our Festival’s energetic annual kick–off performance. The selected scenes, chosen from more than 100 associate and participating productions that were recommended, are representative of the diverse offerings seen across Region VIII in 2011. Included are samples of outstanding acting skill, striking ensemble performance, notable interpretations of classics, and bold renditions of musicals and contemporary works.
