USD Department of Theatre Audition Call for a Fall 2017 Production Monday, September 11th 

TOPDOG/UNDERDOG

A darkly comic fable of brotherly love and family identity, Topdog/Underdog tells the story of Lincoln and Booth, two brothers whose names, given to them as a joke, foretell a lifetime of sibling rivalry and resentment. Haunted by their past, the brothers are forced to confront the shattering reality of their future.  Performances November 16-19, 2017 in Studio Theatre.  Rehearsals begin October 9th.

Monday, September 11, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM

Everyone should arrive by 6:00 pm and be prepared to read from the script.

Auditions will be held in The Vassiliadis Family Black Box Theatre, Camino Hall 131.

IMPORTANT AUDITION NOTES:

  • Audition is open to all students, faculty, and staff at the University of San Diego.
  • No experience required.
  • Sign up on the callboard outside the Theatre Department office, Camino Hall 163, across from the vending machines.
  • Download the three audition forms below.
  • BRING ONE COMPLETED SET WITH YOU TO YOUR AUDITION. 

  • It is suggested that you read the play before hand.
  • Scripts available for 24-hour check-out in the Theatre office. 

  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled audition.

Conflicts (such as evening classes) must be listed on audition forms and will be taken into account during casting. Depending on your role, the commitment could be 1-6 days per week, 1-4 hours per day/night during the week, 1-5 hours on weekends. Rehearsals will be evenings Monday through Friday 6-10 PM, and Saturday 12-5 pm. Sunday will be a day off.

Obviously, you must not have any conflicts during the performance dates of the fall productions, and no conflicts during tech week preferred. All actors are required to participate in strike as scheduled. You will be required to register for a Theatre Arts and Performance Studies practicum credit if you are cast.

NOTE:  If cast, you may be required to enroll in one Theatre practicum.
