Department of Theatre

USD offers undergraduate and graduate programs in theatre.

USD's Department of Theatre is committed to providing our students with a well-rounded education that prepares them for a fulfilling career – in theatre or elsewhere. We typically produce three shows each semester to entertain the USD and San Diego communities. Our undergraduate program frames theatre within the liberal arts environment as a holistic educational experience through integrated practical and theoretical study, while our nationally recognized graduate program, The Old Globe and USD Shiley Graduate Theatre Program, is focused on professional actor training for classical theatre.

All of our faculty are professionally active and share their expertise with students and alumni, regardless of major.
