Fritsvold Publishes Article in the Book 'Children of the Drug War'
Erik D. Fritsvold, PhD, assistant professor in the Crime, Justice, Law and Society concentration in the Department of Sociology at the University of San Diego, has contributed an article titled “Under Cover of Privilege: College Drug Dealing in the United States,” in Children of the Drug War—Perspectives on the Impact of Drug Policies on Young People (Damon Barrett, Ed., New York: The International Debate Education Association, 2011).
Providing an international look at the consequences of drug policy, the article was written in collaboration with A. Rafik Mohamed, PhD, chair of the Department of Social Sciences at Clayton State University, Georgia. Fritsvold and Mohamed are also coauthors of Dorm Room Dealers: Drugs and the Privileges of Race and Class (Lynne Rienner Publishers, 2009.) Dorm Room Dealers has been nominated for the American Society of Criminology’s Hindelang Award for the book that makes “the most outstanding contribution to research in criminology” in 2011.
