Office of Supervisor Greg Cox First District, County of San Diego Internship Opportunity


Supervisor Greg Cox is looking for a hard working, dependable and energetic full-time student for a paid internship in his Downtown San Diego office. The qualified applicant for this entry- level position will be a junior or senior in college with a strong academic record and an interest in local government, politics, public administration, journalism, and/or communications. Applicants must be available to work during business hours (8am-5pm M-F) on a regular schedule.

Strong writing skills, excellent organization and the ability to work with people under deadline pressure are essential to succeed in this fast-paced environment. The student intern will support the office in day-to-day administrative activities including filing, answering phones, data entry, letter writing, research, community projects, assisting constituents and searching for daily news stories. Bilingual skills are a plus.

Pay: $13.00 to $15.05 per hour (based on number of academic units completed)

Hours: 40 hours per week during the summer and school holiday breaks. 20 hours per week while school is in session. Seeking full-time students only please.
