| Message | The Students for Economic Justice Summer Internship Program is a project of CPI which aims to build stronger capacity for community organizing in San Diego. It is an intensive eight-week program that gives students organizing training through political education, skills building, and hands-on in-the-field experience working on campaigns for economic and social justice. Students receive trainings from various community leaders throughout San Diego and will finish the program with a better understanding of the political landscape of the region. Overall Goals:
The Center on Policy Initiatives is a nonprofit research and advocacy center that works to end working poverty by building a fair economy in which good jobs with healthcare coverage allow all working people to live with dignity. CPI envisions local government as an effective champion for the common good, and hope to enable residents of moderate-income communities to have an informed and powerful voice in decisions affecting their quality of life.
