Housing and Graduate Student Life
Housing
USD offers two different on-campus graduate housing options. Both are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so interested students should apply as early as possible. For more information on availability, costs and policies, please see Graduate Housing
Many graduate students prefer to live off campus. There are three good sources of local housing ads.
- The San Diego Union Tribune lists rentals by region. USD is located in the central coastal region.
- The San Diego Reader lists rentals by neighborhood. USD is located in Linda Vista. Nearby neighborhoods include Mission Valley, Pacific Beach, North Park, Hillcrest, Ocean Beach, Clairemont, and Bay Park.
- Craigslist also lists rentals by neighborhood and is a good resource for those looking for shared housing or roommates.
Graduate Student Life
USD sponsors a number of clubs and activities for graduate students, including student government (Graduate Student Council), volunteer and community service opportunities, University Ministry, on-campus recreation classes (sports, dance, martial arts, etc.), and outdoor adventures (kayaking, hiking, etc.). More information on these and other campus services can be found at http://www.sandiego.edu/archways/graduate/
