English Major Nathan Heller Selected for Phi Beta Kappa Internship

Message

English Major Nathan Heller was selected for a prestigious internship with the national office of the Phi Beta Kappa Society in Washington, D.C.

Founded in 1776, Phi Beta Kappa is the nation’s oldest academic honor society. It has chapters at 280 institutions and more than half a million members throughout the country. Its mission is to champion education in the liberal arts and sciences, to recognize academic excellence, and to foster freedom of thought and expression.

The internship program is for juniors and seniors majoring in the liberal arts or sciences who attend institutions where our chapters are located. Interns serve for two semesters and prepare a minimum of six publishable articles (500-700 words each) for the new Key Reporter website, to be launched in Fall 2012.

This is an unpaid, non-residential internship position. Interns conduct research from their home campuses. Interns receive full credit for their work. Each article published by the Society will include the author’s name, major, and institutional affiliation.

Congratulations, Nathan!
