San Diego Union-Tribune -- Top scholars from around the world are meeting at the University of San Diego this week to take up topics as real as tsunamis and as abstract as the nature of time. The campus is hosting the annual Pacific division meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the world’s largest general scientific society. AAAS also publishes the prestigious journal Science. Upwards of 600 scholars will deliver papers, give papers and debate the latest findings in their field.
