| Message | San Diego Union Tribune -- Standing outside of the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center after Sunday’s Holocaust commemoration, Walter Steinweg looked up at his own name engraved on a wall. He is listed under “San Diegans who survived the Holocaust.” The rest of his family is listed about 30 feet away on another section: “San Diego family members who perished in the Holocaust.” The Rev. Canon Jack E. Lindquist, a University of San Diego professor, gave a lecture about the church’s complicity in the Holocaust. A documentary by local filmmaker Bonnie Bart featuring three survivor testimonies was premiered as well. (Full Story) |
