Molly McClain Comments On Life Of Ellen Browning Scripps

Message

KPBS -- Ellen Browning Scripps was one of San Diego's most influential patrons and philanthropists. Her family name and her legacy can been seen in many aspects of local life...from health care to ocean research. But you may not know that Ms. Scripps didn't even move to San Diego until she was 60-years old.

In honor of women's history month, a conference in San Diego this weekend will focus on little-known aspects of the life of Ellen Browning Scripps...and other unsung history of women in San Diego.

Molly McClain, professor of history, University of San Diego, discusses Scripps' legacy. (Listen Here)
