San Diego Union Tribune -- I am willing to bet that Joe Yorty has spent more time on craigslist than you have. The artist and long time San Diegan (Yorty went went to high school in Escondido) has devoted countless hours to scouring the DIY second-hand commerce website in search of objects such a jacuzzis, BBQs, and various pieces of furniture, amassing a collection of ads the volume of which easily qualifies him as obsessed (or insane?).

In particular, Yorty zeroed in on couches and found, wouldn't you know it, that there are hundreds of them being offered up for free every day. These searches evolved into the Free Couch Archive, an eleven volume collection of "more than 33,000 distinct photographs of couches advertised for free in more than 300 cities across the United States" (text from the artist).
