Convocation Honors Top USD Students, Faculty

Ana Barrios will earn a bachelor’s degree in sociology at the University of San Diego later this month, but, on Tuesday, she got a taste of what that celebration will feel like. Barrios’ name was called multiple times at the annual USD Undergraduate Honors Convocation and each time, she had a very personal cheering section.

“I’m humbled. It’s overwhelming to be recognized among fellow students and I’m blessed to have members of my family here for this,” Barrios said. Ana’s mother, Ofelia; father, Gabino; sister Julieta, who is a USD sophomore, and Gabino’s parents, Juan and Delfina, were all present to share in the joyous occasion. (Full Story Inside USD)
