Faculty Member Selected to Join Native Investigators Program
Michelle Jacob, Ph.D. an assistant professor in the Ethnic Studies department was one of three faculty members in the United States selected to receive the Native Investigators Program career development award. Funded by the National Institutes of Health, the two year traineeship is administered by the University of Colorado, Centers for American Indian and Alaska Native Health and the University of Washington School of Medicine. Jacob will join the Native Investigators program in January 2010, working closely with a team of faculty to conduct Native health research that integrates the social, behavioral, and health sciences.
