Choral Scholars Scholarship *

Music Endowment Scholarship *

This scholarship is offered to a music major who shows outstanding promise and demonstrates a desire to contribute to the USD music program in a significant way.

All students must first apply to the University of San Diego through the Undergraduate Admissions Office before applying for this scholarship.

Award amount: $2000 (first year), $3000 (second year), $4000 (third and fourth years)
Number of scholarships awarded per year: 4
Application deadline: Monday, January 15, 2009
Application requirements:
1. Letter of application: Please explain why you want to be a music major at USD and what your career goals are upon graduation.
2.Two letters of recommendation, one from a music professional.
3. Tape or live audition (two contrasting selections).

Anne Catherine Swanke Memorial Scholarship **

This scholarship is awarded to a deserving music major who gives evidence by recitals and performances that they intend to pursue a career in music as a performer.

Amount: $1,000
Number of scholarships awarded per year: 1-2

Sister Aimee Rossi, RSCJ, Music Scholarship **

This scholarship is awarded to a dedicated music major who contributes significantly to the music program.

Amount: $500
Number of scholarships awarded per year: 1

USD Symphony Scholarship *

Any USD student, regardless of his or her major or minor, may receive, each semester, a $440 scholarship to go towards individual lessons for the student's orchestral instrument once the student has successfully auditioned for the USD Symphony. (Lessons are given on campus and for one unit of credit.)
