The Department of Music offers the following musical opportunities, whether or not you are a music major or minor:

  • Small Chamber Ensembles (MUSC 150/350)
  • Larger Chamber Ensembles, such as a chamber orchestra or a concert band, depending on how many students sign up and which instruments they play (MUSC 151/351)
  • A Concert Choir open to all students (MUSC 153/353)
  • Opera Workshop (MUSC 154)
  • Individual instrumental lessons for students participating in the ensembles ($540 fee/semester; MUSC 160/360 to 181/381)

The Department of Music has three brand-new Yamaha U1 pianos for use in the practice rooms, as well as a newly acquired Steinway C grand piano for the Chamber Music Room.

Apart from the performance opportunities listed above, please consider the following courses for the fall schedule. All are currently open and require no musical background.
