Marjorie Hart is Professor Emerita of USD, a graduate of the University of Iowa, and holds a MFA from San Diego State University. She is former Chair of the Fine Arts Department at USD and a professional cellist. She performed extensively with the San Diego Symphony and San Diego Opera as well as with a number of orchestras and chamber ensembles during her decades as a concert cellist. Before coming to USD, she taught at DePauw University. A native of Iowa, she became a New Year Times bestselling author at the age of 82 for her widely praised memoir, Summer at Tiffany (2007).

Henry Kolar (b. 1923) has been a lifelong advocate for classical music and a major figure in music in the San Diego area. He took his undergraduate degree at DePaul University and received graduate degrees at Northwestern University and University of Colorado. He also worked in the music programs at USC and the Vienna Academy of Music. Dr. Kolar taught music at USD for 35 years, where he founded the USD orchestra and music program. In addition, he served as concertmaster for the San Diego Symphony Orchestra and conductor for both the San Diego Youth Symphony and the La Jolla Civic Orchestra. Between performing, conducting, and teaching, Dr. Kolar has enjoyed a lifetime of music.
