Stefani Walens has been active for many years as a collaborative artist and currently accompanies and coaches voice students at USD, and teaches piano and accompanies clarinet students at UCSD. She has collaborated with vocal and instrumental students and colleagues at both universities in numerous recital programs, accompanied master classes given by Dawn Upshaw, Paul Sperry, and Jane Manning, and coached, accompanied and performed in numerous operatic productions presented by the Department of Music at UCSD.

Scholarly and Creative Work
Stefani’s varied background includes positions as adjunct piano faculty at the University of Virginia, piano instructor at Belvoir Terrace Fine Arts Center in Lenox, MA, Assistant to the Director of the Opera Workshop at Northwestern University, accompanist and musical consultant for the Virginia Players, adjudicator for numerous San Diego musical competitions and organizations, and Publications Editor at The Instrumentalist Company. She was the founding Musical Director and accompanist at the Ash Lawn Summer Opera Festival at the historic home of James Monroe near Charlottesville, Virginia.
Stefani is familiar to local audiences as a regular participant in many of the chamber music series in San Diego, including those at the Athenaeum, the San Diego Museum of Art, the San Diego Public Library, the Chula Vista Public Library, the Scripps Ranch Public Library, the First Unitarian Universalist Church, the San Diego Mini Concerts at the Lyceum Theater, the Muriel Gluck Chamber Music Series, the MUSE chamber music series, and Synergy at Home.
She can be heard on CRI records as soloist and accompanist in the music of Will Ogdon.
