New Student Letter

To New USD Student:

Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of San Diego! We are very excited that you have decided to become a part of our community.

On your application you indicated a talent in music. We would like to invite you to audition for the University of San Diego Symphony and Chamber Music Ensembles. We have a very exciting season ahead of us and would like for you to play a part in it.

All students, regardless of their major(s) or minor(s) are eligible to audition. Except for pianist and percussion major, all students who audition for the USD Symphony and/or Chamber Music Ensembles must possess your own instrument.

Auditions are normally held several days before the beginning of the fall and spring semester. Audition requirements are: three octaves of major and minor scales (by memory), two pieces (or movements) of contrasting style, and sight-reading a brief musical excerpt. Dr. Yeung will register you after you auditioned successfully. No late fee will apply.
