In Remembrance: Commemorating Veterans Day with the USD Choral Scholars and Concert Choir

In 2014, the world marks the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War. Under the direction of Dr. Emilie Amrein, the USD Choral Scholars and Concert Choir present a moving program of sacred choral literature in commemoration of this event. Featured works include Zdenek Lukas’ fiery Dies Irae as well as excerpts from Tomas Luis de la Victoria’s moving Missa pro defunctis a 6.

Lessons and Carols

Gather in Founders Chapel for our annual Christmas celebration. "Lessons and Carols," featuring poignant readings from the old and New Testaments with beautiful carols and hymns performed by USD's Choral Scholars and Concert Choir.

Directions to Campus

From the North: Take I-5 South, exiting at the Sea World Drive/Tecolote Road exit and proceeding left at the stoplight towards Morena Blvd. Turn right on Morena, left on Napa, and left onto Linda Vista Rd. At the first stoplight (USD's West entrance), turn left to enter campus.

From the South (incl. the airport): Take I-5 North to I-8 East. Stay in the right lane and immediately exit onto Morena Blvd. Take the first right onto Linda Vista and a left at the third stoplight (USD's West entrance) to enter campus.

From the East: Take I-8 West, exiting at Morena Blvd. Turn right onto Linda Vista Rd. and a left at the third stoplight (USD's West entrance) to enter campus.

After entering campus: Proceed up the hill, past four stop signs, to reach the main campus on the top of the hill. On the main campus, Camino Hall is the second building on the left (proceed straight back through the main doors to reach Shiley Theatre); Founders Hall is the third building on the left (proceed straight back through the main doors to reach Founders Chapel, or turn right immediately to enter the French Parlor).

Night and weekend parking is often available at the IPJ garage (turn right at the third stop sign after entering campus); please check with at the entrance kiosk for a parking permit and details.
