Honors Program Coordinator
Erin Prickett joined the Honors office in 2011. Prickett coordinates the Honors Program and serves as the main point of contact for questions from parents, students, faculty, and staff regarding the program. She assists the Honors Director in various aspects of the program, including course evaluation and selection, fall and mid-year admissions, first-year registration, and student advising.
Prickett also provides a public speaking segment during the Honors Thesis Seminar, which requires seniors in the program to present their independent, scholarly research. Prickett records the presentations and archives the written work.

Prickett’s interests include Health Communication, Rhetoric, and Interpersonal Communication. Her research largely revolves around patient-provider communication. For instance, Prickett explored the use of patient humor and laughter in oncology visits in her Master’s thesis, "Managing Patients' Laughter and Humor in Oncology Interviews: Justifying Wellness as an Interactional Achievement.”
