I. CORE COURSES FOR LIBERAL STUDIES All majors must complete the following course work (Grade of "C" or better)
LBST 200 Foundations in Liberal Studies (3) Fall only
LBST 400 Senior Seminar in Liberal Studies (3) Spring only
ENG 122 Compositionn and Literature for Educators (3)
ENG 231 Children's Literature (3) Spring only
ENG 304W Advanced Composition (3)
MATH 115 College Algebra (3)
MATH 200 Mathematical Concepts for Elementary Teachers I (3) Fall only
MATH 300 Mathematical Concepts for Elementary Teachers II (3) Spring only
PHIL 101 Introduction to Logic (3) or MATH 160 Logic for Mathematics and Computer Science (3)
Math 160 is recommended for students whose concentration is in Mathematics

NOTE: Students must demonstrate third-semester competency through coursework or examination. Students
interested in the Bi-Lingual Authorization should meet the fourth-semester competency in Spanish.

Credential Option #1: Preliminary Multiple Subject (33 units for coursework/12 units for student teaching)
Credential Option #2: Level I Education Specialist (Mild/Moderate) (35 units/6 units for student teaching)
