| Message | ![]() The Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies welcomes Peace Scholar in Residence Jennifer Schirmer, PhD. In the words of the Colombia Dialogue Project, led by Dr. Schirmer at the University of Oslo's Center for Development and Environment, "In Colombia, poverty, landlessness, drug production and trafficking, human rights violations and violent displacement are among the serious challenges in the longest armed conflict in Latin America." As peace talks proceed between the Government of Colombia and the FARC rebels, this lecture will examine the challenges involved in balancing human rights accountability with peacebuilding efforts. This event is offered in observance of International Human Rights Day. |
