The primary objectives of the German program are to create a rewarding experience in language, culture, and civilization and to provide students with a marketable skill in their careers in the fields of industry, economics, and commerce as well as the sciences, the humanities, and international relations.

From a business point of view, German is one of the most important languages in the world. Students are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the USD International Study Programs described earlier in this Bulletin, including "German 201 in German-speaking Europe" when offered in the summer.
