Scholarly and Creative Work
Professor Saad has published a short story in the anthology Opening the Gates: An Anthology of Arab Women Writers. This short story has been used in a large number of textbooks in a variety of subjects: women’s studies, Middle Eastern Literature, and ESL. She was a literary critic for United Press International for several years.
Professor Saad is interested in introducing her students to the French culture and language, and fostering an abiding love and interest in both. She uses a variety of online tools and websites, and incorporates Community Service Learning to most of her classes. This allows her students to meet members of the French and Francophone communities and use their language acquisition in a real-life setting.
