Houju Huang
Director of Chinese Program
Hunag Houju is a native Chinese speaker who has taught Chinese language at all levels. Her teaching experience includes courses in Chinese culture and Chinese calligraphy. She has taught for Columbia University's China program for many years. In 2009-10, she was a visiting professor at American University in Washington, D.C.

Scholarly and Creative Work
Prof. Huang's research includes social linguistics, and second language acquisition. She is the other of a series of books on the vivid Chinese expression, the first of which was published by Peking University Press in 2011.
Teaching Interests
Prof. Huang's teaching interests focus on Chinese grammar, pronunciation, and intercultural communication. In addition to helping students to learn the necessary skills to utilize Chinese language, she also leads the student to an understanding of different societies and cultures.
