Professor Li’s scholarly work focuses on media technologies for teaching Chinese as a foreign language. To keep her constantly empowered and updated, since 2006 she has devoted her time participating in ACTFL conventions, CLTA (Chinese Language Teachers Association) conferences and workshops, and Chinese teachers training courses at Beijing Language and Culture University.
Professor Li’s teaching interest focuses on methodologies that aim to engage students to participate in interactive, collaborative and task-based activities. She enjoys designing teacher-student and student-student interactive activities with an appropriate use of media technologies and online authentic materials to help students to learn the Chinese language and to understand the Chinese culture. She is also interested in business Chinese and is teaching an advanced business Chinese course this quarter at UCSD.
