This exhibition (March 1- April 16, 2010) is dedicated to Dean Mary K. Boyd, in gratitude for her leadership in founding USD's B.A. in Architecture.

In Spheres & Atmospheres, the students of Professor Daniel López-Pérez analyzed the geodesic dome prototypes of American architect and inventor Buckminster Fuller. Having produced physical and computer models of each prototype, students then explored the flexibility and variations of each architectural system. The final stage of the studio consisted of translating Fuller's spheres into original designs, as varied as a bridge on campus or a new spatial arrangement for the interior of the Copley Library.
