Spheres and Atmospheres
|Event Start Date||Monday, March 1, 2010 – Friday, April 16, 2010|
“Spheres & Atmospheres,” an exhibit of student architecture research and design is currently on display in Copley Library. The display demonstrates the three phases of work that students in the architecture program conduct. For this project phase one included the historical analysis of a spherical prototype developed by R. Buckminster Fuller. In the second phase the students worked with the prototypes to create a model of the sphere. The third phase involved applying this prototype to create a project or model of an architectural design. Some students applied the sphere prototypes to bridges on USD’s campus during the third phase of their studio design.
On Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Library Seminar Room students, with Assistant Professor Daniel López-Pérez, will discuss their research and designs.
In celebration of the new major, this exhibition will have an opening reception on Friday, March 19th at 3:30p.m. in Copley Library.
