From Inside USD -- Each spring, University Ministry and Students for Life join together to present L.I.F.E. (Living Is For Everyone) Week, a series of events to celebrate and respect the dignity of all human life. This year, the events from March 31 to April 4, cover a wide range of topics, from human trafficking to suicide prevention. Events for this year's L.I.F.E. Week include a screening of "Documented," a film by Pulitzer Prize Winner Jose Vargas about undocumented immigration; Suicide Prevention Training, and Baby Blanket Making.
L.I.F.E. Week is a wonderful tradition to educate the USD community on life issues, while promoting the celebration and respect for the dignity of all human life. The L.I.F.E. Week goals coincide with the Catholic Social Thought theme this semester, "Call to Family, Community and Participation." During the week, themes and programs emphasize that we all belong to one human family that is strengthened by the gifts and participation of individuals interacting and supporting each other in our community.
Each day will address a different issue and events incorporate speakers, movies, service opportunities, prayer experiences, music and a panel discussion. Displays and presentations around campus include an exhibit of photos entered in the "Life through Different Lenses" photography contest, and a lawn presentation portraying statistics for each issue.
All events are free, open to the public and include refreshments.
