What is a Living Learning Community (LLC)?
In living learning communities (LLC), students who share a common interest live and study together. Not only do LLCs ease your academic and social transition to USD, but they also expand your intellectual curiosity beyond the classroom and establish an immediate sense of community with your faculty and fellow residents. USD currently has 9 LLC themes. Each LLC theme acts as an umbrella for a selection of preceptorial courses.

What do you have to do in an LLC?
In an LLC, students take classes together and live near one another, sharing a supercharged college experience where academics meld with exciting extracurricular activities and community engagement, unfurling new understandings in the process.
How do I tell what LLC I am in?
Your preceptiorial course will match up with a particular Living Learning Community. You can view which preceptorials fit under particular LLCs here: Preceptorial Brochure 2013
Also, when the course schedules are posted on July 12, 2013, your LLC will be listed next to the title of your preceptorial course.
How do I enroll in the Honors LLC?
Select incoming freshmen are invited to apply to the Honors Program. Once admitted, the Honors freshmen get placed into the Honors Living Learning Community. You can view the Honors preceptorials here: Honors Preceptorial Brochure 2013
