Jacob and Peters Have Peer-Reviewed Journal Article Accepted for Publication

Ethnic Studies professor Michelle Jacob and Ethnic Studies senior Wynona Peters had their co-authored article, “The Proper Way to Advance the Indian: Race and Gender Hierarchies in Early Yakima Newspapers,” accepted for publication in the Native American Studies journal, Wicazo Sa Review (forthcoming in issue 27:1). The article uses data that Jacob collected in the Yakima Valley Library archives with support from the American Philosophical Society. Jacob and Peters completed the article in Summer 2010 as part of Peters’ McNair Scholars research project.
