Day of the Dead Celebration

Event Start DateThursday, October 28, 2010 – Wednesday, November 3, 2010
Camino Hall Modular Offices

The Department of Ethnic Studies invites you to partake in a Dia De Los Muertos Celebration on Thursday, October 28, during dead hours (12:15 p.m. - 2 p.m.) at Camino Hall Modular Offices located behind Copley Library.

Please come to collectively learn how to create and construct an altar in honor of those who have gone before us with a special focus on migrants who have died
along the U.S.-Mexico border as presented by Ethnic Studies 140: Introduction to Chicano Studies.

We will be guided and directed by artist Yolanda Romero who will speak to the significance of this important observance and celebration.

Please bring photographs, artifacts, memorabilia and food by which to acknowledge and affirm those who you wish to honor.

Our altar creation(s) will be up from October 28 - November 3. We welcome you to come visit after the October 28 if you are unable to join us on that day.
