Student Congratulations


Congratulations to USD Interdisciplinary Humanities major Bernadette Smith for her award-winning research presentation on evolutionary theory in Jack London's The Call of the Wild at the AAAS-PD (American Association for the Advancement of Science-Pacific Division) conference at USD in June 2011. In addition to winning first place for her category (History and Philosophy of Science), Bernadette received an award for student presentations at the conference in general. Her awards include $275, a certificate, and one year’s student membership in AAAS. Her project is titled, “Darwinian Evolution in Jack London: Dualistic representations of evolution and social Darwinism in the character of Buck.”
