Missed the Annual Humanities Lecture by Fred Robinson?
Fred Miller Robinson received his PhD from the University of Washington and is a professor of English. He served as chair of the English Department from 1991 until 2005 and has taught a variety of undergraduate courses including Modern Poetry, Modern Drama, Writing Autobiography as well as a text course in Modern Drama to the Globe/USD MFA students. His research focus has shifted from comic theory to cultural studies. Professor Robinson has written three books: The Comedy of Language: Studies in Modern Comic Literature; Comic Moments; The Man in the Bowler Hat: His History and Iconography (a social history of modern life). In 2002, he received the Davies Award for Teaching Excellence.
