Jen Marshall Lagedrost completed her MFA in poetry at San Diego State University. She holds a BA in English from the University of San Diego, where she also raced with the Toreros cross-country team. Her poems, translations, and reviews appear in literary journals including Pleiades, Poetry International, Drafthorse, and Midwestern Gothic, as well as an anthology of poetry inspired by running titled Bearers of Distance. Her chapbook Negative Splits was selected as a semi-finalist in the Mary Ballard Poetry Chapbook Prize. Jen teaches composition & literature and has also taught creative writing and fiction studies. As head of the Graduate and International Student Writing Outreach Programs at USD's Writing Center, Jen teaches writing workshops for USD's diverse graduate programs, and she co-authored an article in TESOL International about this project. In addition to teaching, Jen leads summer-abroad cultural exploration trips with Putney Student Travel, is a contributing editor for HINGED: Journal of Converging Arts, and is a co-founder of The Verge: Live Arts & Salon Series. She teaches Ashtanga yoga and is an avid traveler, runner, artist, and outdoor enthusiast.
