Ebony Tyree completed undergraduate studies here at the University of San Diego and later completed a Master’s of Arts in English with an emphasis on American Literature at San Diego State University where she was awarded membership into the Scholars without Borders Honors Society. Her recent speaking engagements include the New York Life Multicultural Conference in Las Vegas before an international delegation. An accomplished speaker, she has also been invited by the San Diego State University graduate school of Liberal Arts and Sciences to discuss religious influences on popular music to an audience of master’s degree candidates. She has also taught as an adjunct English professor at San Diego City College Learning Community Program. Her interests include the study of Cultural responses to catastrophic events in the US, Slave Narrative Literature and Feminist Literature.
