Contemplative Pedagogy

The Contemplative Pedagogy workshop explores critical issues in Contemplative Studies as well as the contributions and limitations of a contemplative approach to university education.

Typical topics include theoretical and interpretive issues in Contemplative Studies, such as the use of critical first-person discourse and experiential approaches to contemplative practice; practical dimensions of teaching courses in Contemplative Studies, including course design and classroom dynamics; as well as contemplative pedagogy, which is an approach to teaching and learning that incorporates contemplative practice into university education and academic culture. The format of this workshop may be adapted to the particular interests of organizers and/or participants.
